Our Approach to AI

Our Approach to AI

At Erawatech, our goal is to help you make peace with technology. Artificial intelligence is one of the tools we may use to support that goal. Used thoughtfully, it can help us explore ideas, solve problems, and spend more time on the work that benefits your organization.

Our approach is grounded in human judgment, client confidentiality, transparency, and accountability. We decide when AI is appropriate based on the task, the information involved, and your organization’s needs. Erawatech remains responsible for the services and deliverables we provide, regardless of the tools used to create them.

How We May Use AI

We may use AI tools to assist with website planning, design, development, content, technical troubleshooting, and administrative work. Depending on the project, this could include:

  • Brainstorming page layouts, content outlines, or design concepts.

  • Drafting and refining website copy, documentation, and training materials.

  • Exploring code solutions and identifying potential causes of technical problems.

  • Organizing project notes and summarizing information.

  • Developing image concepts or other creative assets.

  • Preparing research questions and identifying topics that need further investigation.

  • Simplifying technical explanations for clients and website visitors.

The level of AI involvement will vary. Some tasks may benefit from substantial assistance, while others require direct work without it. We choose tools based on their usefulness and suitability for the project.

Human Review and Professional Judgment

AI can produce information that sounds convincing but is incorrect, incomplete, outdated, or unsuitable for a particular situation. It can also generate code that appears functional but introduces errors or fails to account for the surrounding website environment.

For those reasons, AI output is treated as material that requires review. We check factual claims, evaluate recommendations, revise content, and test functionality as appropriate to the work. We also consider whether a proposed solution fits your goals, audience, technical setup, and ability to maintain it over time.

AI-generated content does not establish legal compliance, accessibility, security, or technical accuracy by itself. When a task requires specialized professional advice or additional testing, we identify that need rather than treating an AI response as sufficient verification.

Client Privacy and Confidentiality

Protecting client information is part of our responsibility. Before using information with an AI tool, we consider its sensitivity, whether it is necessary for the task, and the provider’s available privacy and data-handling controls.

We aim to limit the information shared to what the task requires. Where practical, we remove identifying details, use sample data, or describe a problem without including confidential material.

We will not submit confidential client materials, sensitive personal information, passwords, or access credentials to AI tools without appropriate safeguards and any necessary client authorization. If a task cannot be completed within those boundaries, we will use another approach or discuss the requirements with you.

Different AI services have different terms, retention practices, and settings. We do not assume that information entered into every AI tool receives the same protections or is automatically excluded from use in model training.

Accuracy, Originality, and Creative Work

Your website should reflect your organization’s actual identity, experience, and services. AI-assisted content must support that purpose.

We review content for accuracy, relevance, tone, and suitability for your audience. We do not use AI to invent customer testimonials, professional credentials, project results, partnerships, or other claims that could mislead people about your organization.

We respect intellectual property rights when selecting source materials and reviewing creative output. We do not assume that an AI-generated asset is automatically original, exclusive, or free of third-party rights concerns.

When AI-generated imagery or other content could reasonably be mistaken for a real person, event, place, or documented outcome, we identify it appropriately. Particular care is needed when authenticity is central to the message, such as client stories, fundraising appeals, or representations of an organization’s work.

Transparency About AI Use

We are happy to discuss how AI contributes to your project. If you have questions about a deliverable or the tools used in its development, you can ask us directly.

We do not label every routine editing suggestion, brainstorming exercise, or code-assistance step individually. We do discuss AI use when it materially affects a deliverable, involves sensitive information, or changes how people interact with your website.

Adding an AI-powered feature, such as a chatbot or automated content tool, is a separate project decision. We will discuss its purpose, limitations, information handling, and maintenance needs before implementation.

Your Organization’s Requirements

Some organizations have internal AI policies, contractual obligations, funder requirements, or restrictions on the information they can share with outside services. We respect those boundaries.

Please share any relevant requirements at the beginning of a project, or when they change. We will agree on an approach before using AI in the affected work. If a restriction changes the scope, timeline, or cost, we will discuss that with you.

You should feel comfortable asking questions and expressing preferences about how your work is completed.

Our Ongoing Commitment

AI tools and their capabilities will continue to change. We will review our approach as we learn more about their practical benefits, limitations, and risks.

Our priorities remain consistent: useful work, clear communication, protection of client information, and professional accountability. Whatever tools we use, our relationship with you is built on trust, and our responsibility for the quality of our work stays with Erawatech.
