Domain Registration FAQs
How much does a domain name cost?
Pricing varies by domain extension and the name you choose. Search Erawatech’s domain store to see available names and prices. Your cart shows the cost for your selected registration period and any optional privacy protection before checkout.
Should I add domain privacy protection?
Should I add domain privacy protection?
We recommend it for eligible domains, particularly if you register using your home address, personal phone number, or individual contact details.
Domain registration requires accurate contact information. Privacy protection adds a layer of separation between those details and the public registration directory by substituting the privacy service’s contact information where applicable. This helps limit information available to people collecting contact details for unsolicited outreach.
Some registration information may already be redacted under registry or registrar policies. Privacy protection provides an additional service, but it does not guarantee anonymity or prevent all spam, scams, or legally required disclosures.
You can select Privacy Protection in your cart and review the additional cost before completing your purchase.
Does domain registration include a website or email?
Domain registration reserves your web address. Website hosting, design, and email services are separate. Erawatech also offers these services if you need help building your online presence.
Can I transfer an existing domain to Erawatech?
Yes. You can start a domain transfer through Erawatech’s store. Transferring your domain registration is separate from moving your website hosting or email services.
How do domain renewals work?
Domains must be renewed to keep their registration active. You can enable automatic renewal and manage your renewal preferences through your account. Keep your contact and payment information current.
Saw an error after submitting payment?
Saw an error after submitting payment?
Your payment or domain order may still have gone through, even if an error appeared on the screen.
- Don’t submit another payment yet. This helps avoid a duplicate charge.
- Check your email, including spam, for an order confirmation or transfer notification.
- Check your Erawatech domain account for the order’s status.
- If you’re unsure, email su*****@*******ch.com. Include the domain name, approximate payment time, and any error message or screenshot.
We’ll check the order and confirm the next step. Please don’t send your password, full card number, or domain transfer authorization code.
My domain is already paid for. Should I wait before transferring?
Usually, no. For most common domain extensions, including .com, .net, and .org, transferring preserves your remaining registration time and adds one year to the existing expiration date.
For example, a qualifying domain paid through June 2027 would normally be extended through June 2028 after the transfer. You pay the transfer charge when you transfer, but you don’t lose the months already paid for.
Exceptions apply to some domain extensions and recent renewals after expiration. Contact Erawatech if you’d like us to check your domain before you begin.
How long does a domain transfer take?
Allow approximately five to seven calendar days, although some transfers complete sooner. Timing depends on your current registrar, the domain extension, and any required approvals or transfer restrictions.
We recommend starting several weeks before expiration to leave time to resolve any issues.
Why did my current registrar send an email about denying or canceling my transfer?
Your current registrar may send a security notification giving you the option to stop a requested transfer. Seeing words like “deny,” “cancel,” or “reject” does not necessarily mean anything has gone wrong.
If you requested the transfer to Erawatech and the email says it will proceed automatically unless you cancel, no action is needed. Do not click the deny or cancel link.
Some registrars also offer an option to approve the transfer immediately. Read the instructions carefully, and contact su*****@*******ch.com if you’re unsure.
If you did not request the transfer, contact your current registrar promptly.
Will transferring my domain affect my website or email?
A domain transfer moves your registration to Erawatech. It does not automatically move your website, email accounts, or DNS records.
Before transferring, confirm where your DNS is managed and whether that service will remain active afterward. Some providers bundle DNS or forwarding with domain registration, so those services may need to be moved separately.
If your domain supports an active website or email service, contact su*****@*******ch.com before starting if you’re unsure about your setup.
Should I change my nameservers when I transfer?
Not automatically. Nameservers determine where your domain’s DNS records are managed. Those records connect your domain to your website, email, and other services.
If your existing DNS provider will continue providing service, you may be able to keep your current nameservers. If DNS needs to move, the required records must be recreated and checked at the new provider before switching nameservers.
Changing nameservers without preparing those records can interrupt your website or email. Save a copy of your existing DNS records before making changes.
What if I purchased email or other services from my current registrar?
Services such as Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, website hosting, and email forwarding need to be reviewed separately. Transferring your domain does not transfer those subscriptions or their contents to Erawatech.
For example, Microsoft 365 purchased through GoDaddy can work with a domain registered elsewhere, provided the subscription remains active and the correct DNS records are in place.
Do not cancel your existing email, hosting, or other services just because you’re transferring the domain. Check their renewal terms and any bundle conditions with your current provider first.
